Visual Hooks

What's a visual hook? Let’s start with a text hook first. A hook is a compelling opening sentence or statement designed to grab the audience's attention immediately. It’s usually the first sentence you say in a video to make sure people keep watching or the first sentence in a caption to ensure people keep reading.

So what's a visual hook? This can be a video that grabs your attention right away for example because it’s unusual. 

This website has some great videos for you, to create a visual hook with transitions.

Instagram Engagement Rate

Did you know the average Instagram engagement rate across all industries is only 0.43%? Depending on the industry this rate is obviously higher but not as high as you might think. Sprout Social has published an article with some industry standards and how to calculate those rates.
