Want an example of great PR and social media marketing? The cosmetic brand E.L.F named Mikayla, CEO for a day, and she then announced on social media her first order of business: “mandatory BRAT summer vibes for all company execs”. With this stunt, her restocked E.L.F collab “Marriage Material” sold out fast and got almost as much hype as the initial launch last year!

BAD PR & Social Media

While Mikayla is selling out products and getting great PR, Blake Lively is having the opposite scenario. While she is trying to promote her new movie premiere, “It Ends with Us,” as a fun romcom that you should visit with your bestie and “wear your florals,” she got backlash all over TikTok. Old video material from other interviews was posted as well, and fans are saying she is actually a “mean girl.”

Remember when we talked about demure last week? Well, the trend has become even more popular; it feels like every single person and their mother is using the word now, and it quickly made it to every brand’s social media post, including bigger influencers like Patrick Ta.
